This superb 6’3” Bluthner Grand Piano with a Rosewood case originally made 1897-1898 and supplied by Harrods in London has been faithfully restored to its former glory.
By 1900 Blüthner had become the largest piano maker in Germany, producing some 5,000 instruments annually. Innovations such as the Aliquot string, a fourth string that vibrated sympathetically and that is tuned in unison as well as the cylindrical soundboard and angle cut hammers, created a unique voice for the Blüthner instrument.
This incredible restoration work has included a full casework polish, a full re-string, new wrest pins, action and keyboard overhaul including recovered checks. New Bluthner spec Abel hammers have been fitted along with new damper felts and castors.
With a signature velvety Bluthner tone and effortless action, this piano must be played to be fully appreciated.
