Pianos

Our stock is a mixture of new and secondhand instruments. Our new pianos are manufactured by Steinmayer, Toyo, and Sauter of Germany. Each instrument is carefully prepared, tuned and regulated to ensure that it will perform to its full potential. Please follow the links on the left hand side to view our selection of pianos.

Sauter (Exclusive distributor for London and South England)

Our top tier of pianos come courtesy of the the highly regarded Sauter Piano Co in Germany. SAUTER started building pianos nearly 200 years ago. Johann Grimm, the founder of the company, learned the trade of piano making from Johann Andreas Streicher in Vienna, who built Beethoven´s instruments. This is how the founder of Sauter became acquainted with the high requirements of the famous composer. After successful completion of his apprenticeship, he started building square pianos himself and Sauter has been at the forefront of piano design, innovation and craftsmanship ever since.

Fabulous pianos from the oldest piano manufacturer in continuous production

Toyo

For our mid range line of pianos we have selected the Toyo range. Toyo started building pianos in 1948. Toyo are very highly regarded in Japan, but are not well known in Europe, having previously concentrated on their domestic market.
Toyo pianos feature a more traditional European tone when compared with the equivalent Yamaha or Kawai. In spring 2007 the newly revamped Royal Festival Hall on London’s South Bank selected Toyo for their rehearsal pianos ahead of strong competition from more familiar names. Toyo’s top upright pianos feature the unique “Slide Soft System” which is a proper una corda system similar to that found on a grand piano. http://www.toyo-pianos.co.uk/

Steinmayer

From a wide variety of new instruments we have selected Steinmayer upright pianos for their combination of quality and superb value for money in a sector of the market which is notable for some rather ordinary products.

Second Hand

Our secondhand selection is constantly changing. We try to maintain an interesting range of pianos which often offer different playing characteristics and appearance from new or nearly new instruments. All of our used pianos are thoroughly checked over and prepared before being offered for sale. Just as with new pianos, there is no substitute for good preparation.
